Created to preserve the biodiversity around Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, this national park stretches over 14,083 hectares of semi-deciduous very moist forest. Journey through barren rocky terrain, from 1,950 to 5,748 feet above sea level.

Not only will you witness Rincón de la Vieja's geothermal wonders, but also immerse yourself in an ancient forest, hundreds of years old. Towering trees shelter spider monkeys, leaf-cutter ants, and a myriad of flora and fauna.

A moderate amount of walking is involved. 2.5 hours guided hike approximately (3.5-km /  2.5 miles) "Las Pailas" circular path through the tropical forest.
